I would have liked to spend more time with Clara, I feel that there was more of a story to tell about her grief and finding her way forward.

“dramatic” ending that just felt….blah. I don’t even feel sad that this character is gone, but I feel like I should be sad to lose a key character.

frustratingly naive and at times annoying, but it does beg the question of why we judge people for the choices they make in their private lives. Society will judge her for failing to support her child and then judge her for the way she chooses to support herself and her child.

I’m not 100% on board with the reconciliation of Jean Guy and Armand. I am glad that JG got help, but I find it difficult to believe that Armand would be thrilled for his marriage that quickly after rehab. I wish that storyline had been drawn out more.

doesn’t feel like a complete book. However, though I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous books it in no way diminishes my love for this series.

this, it is such an intriguing story!
This book is especially interesting because the Black Death is sweeping across the country. The accepted forms of medical treatment are rather horrifying and we find the learned monks have a backwards approach, while the nuns using their common sense
