This book feels more like a thriller than the previous books. While the usual characters are present, there is less cozy time spent in Three Pines.

I’m not 100% on board with the reconciliation of Jean Guy and Armand. I am glad that JG got help, but I find it difficult to believe that Armand would be thrilled for his marriage that quickly after rehab. I wish that storyline had been drawn out more.

This story does has some redemption towards the end, but it doesn’t make up for the heartbreak endured. I do feel the ending was rushed, I wish we had a few more chapters to wrap up the storylines a bit, but other than that I really enjoyed it.
