When I talk with my doctor, I relate my pain level to what I could or could not do during the week. Just saying it was a 6 and now it’s a 4 is not enough information sometimes to make a decision about next steps.

If it’s leg pain, I go for a walk outside. If it’s hand or back pain from RA, I grab my heating pad and a good distraction like a movie.
