He once got into a tussle with some racist night patrolmen who were trying to lock up some "darker skinned" men just for being out on the street. The men got away unscathed and the night patrolmen were left with some bruises and scrapes.

The Night Hawk claimed all his stories were true. And they really were just about everything a modern day socialist would hope for from a working class superhero in the 1820s and 30s.
