Shelf Control
@shelfcontrol.bsky.social
Husband and wife team making boardgame videos on YouTube where we document our journey as we play through our game collection to see what stays and what goes.

Shelf Control is defined as the never ending struggle against boardgame entropy.
Update on the crowd. We got here early, glad we did. #Winston-Salem out in full force. Makes me proud to be a Canadian living in America. #elbowsup

The instruments are an upgrade. Totally unnecessary, but look neat on the board.

We've got the Dead Reckoning chest and Lost Ruins of Arnak big box. We'll probably do an unboxing of those while talking about the changes We'll be making. Hopefully not too long.

That was the same concert August is Falling played at, wasn't it? Great show.

Always been the Rules Explainer. It's almost always my game (the group just appointed me the game purchaser from the begining... maybe they're smarter than I am).

I like to have a selection of reviews from different people so I can compare their likes and dislikes with mine to get an idea of how I'll respond to the game.

I use them if I remember and find the app has one, but I miss the ability to make one that works best for me (with ScorePal, I'd add little notes about how many resources equals a point, or break one category into two if it made sense).

I like BGStats. The custom sheets are the one thing I miss.

I try my best, but I'm not great at remembering. I did better with ScorePal because I could create my own score sheets in the app. With it gone, I've gone to BGStats, but the inability to make my own sheets means I use it a lot less.

Being a channel about exercising "Shelf Control" isn't that special when the government forces everyone to do so...

What about when they add .5's to the ten point scale? We use a 10 point scale, and will mention if we think a game might fall between 2 numbers, but will pick a whole number.

The quiz gave me Wyrmspan. We actually got this on Nerdzday, so we'll get it to the table soon enough!
