In regards to the idiom, As the Crow flies: Do crows fly notably straight and direct? Do they ever go out of their way to grab a cheeky snack? Stop in to see their friend? What if they forget their wallets? How do we know Crow's are headed straight to their destination?

I do love learning and keeping up to date with a broad array of skills, but I really do end up doing a lot of server administration work than one might think for being an application developer. Not complaining, just observing.

Does anyone use a non-amazon service for eBooks? I certainly don't mind buying from a local book store in dead tree format, but I do like eReaders too, but the shenanigans that amazon is pulling with eReaders, combined with their 80% market share is disturbing. #books #ereader

Slack is down for me so I'm having to email my producers like if Bill Clinton was president and we are all listening to Gin Blossoms cassettes.

I completely missed groundhog's day this year and had to look up what happened. I guess Phil predicted 6 more weeks of society, which is pretty optimistic if you ask me.

The problem with working on a computer all day is that, the internet lives there, and dang man, I don't know if you've seen this, but things are going to shit.

I just found a recipe from serious eats for nacho cheese that uses Alka-Seltzer Gold to add sodium citrate as an emulsifier to smooth out the sauce. 2 things:
1. You can just buy sodium citrate. it seems like that would be easier.
2. Sodium citrate is: Na3C6H5O7. coincidence?

I’m not great at email. But one thing I try to do every year by my last workday is get to inbox zero so I’m starting the new year with a clean slate. Most stuff just gets mass archived but I think it’s helpful.

I was watching a @hankgreen.bsky.social video about how Twitter, Threads and others down-rank outbound links, so that they are less likely to show up in your feed, as it causes you to leave the site, which "hurts" those platforms according to the algorithm.
Twitter (and Threads) Have Made a HUGE Mistake

What are you reading? or tell me something you've wrote that you think I'd like.
I like fiction and non fiction. Stories about hidden spaces, Architecture and Infrastructure, people who are outsiders, Sci-Fi, and not to distant futures, Things that teach me something, things that make me think.

One of the best parts of the WGA deal: AI has now hit a brick wall in Hollywood, *and that includes adaptations.*

Based on the deal, AI can't be source material. So if you're a publisher, AI novels or graphic novels or whatever just became that much less appealing because *they can't be optioned.*
