Republicans defund government agencies and programs to give away tax cuts to the wealthy.

They pull the funding from an agency, and when some awful consequence of the defunding happens, they point to it and say, See? We told you the government doesn’t work.

Rinse and repeat.

"The bottom line is that Trump and DOGE made drastic cuts to the NWS and the NOAA. Retired federal scientists warned the cuts could hamstring forecasts and make extreme weather events less predictable and more dangerous."
Trump gutted the weather service. Then Texas flooded.
It's a brutal reminder that in disasters, we need the federal government.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

People died needlessly in Texas in a freeze. People died needlessly in Texas in a hurricane. I remember both. Now people have died needlessly in a flood. Something needs to change. And it's valid to ask why that hasn't already happened.

WATCH him literally flee as a reporter yells: “Sir, there are families who deserve better than that!”
