Vote an unknown liberal instead of our current, hard-working MP? Talk about a BS take!

if NDP voters can vote Lib candidates in other ridings where Libs lead the vote split (& have repeatedly been asked to do), then certainly the Libs can do the same and vote Desjarlais back in for Edm Griesbach

Blake's an Indigenous candidate in a riding that includes inner city "scary" neighboorhoods (like mine) with low income families of diverse cultural backgrounds.

He is present. He steps up. And I don't have to like his current party's leader to appreciate the good he brings to our riding.

This is my riding. I've lived in it & its previous boundaries, for 20+ years. The NDP encumbent, Desjarlais, is the best representation we've had to date. This one riding won't make or break Carney's win, but voting an unknown Lib & keeping out a hard-working, excellent rep helps Diotte get back in!

Oh hey, there's a face I haven't seen in a long time!

Hope you've got a good scarf on and until the beard is back in place.

As someone who has been here long before the recent X influx, I find it all quite fascinating. Granted, I don't post often (still more active in Threads), but my follower count has barely moved while everyone else is talking about massive influxes.

Good luck to my group then, as I'm typically the note taking player they all rely on!

Oh, we know. See 2006 series.

We spent 5 years posted to Wpg before we moved to Edm, and I'm still amazed at how much warmer the winters are here, considering how much further north we're located. I do miss the snow I grew up with in the Maritimes, but not having to shovel it!

Last year in May Edm had a heatwave with temps in the 30s for days. There's never anything consistent about the weather here.

Despite the frigid cold snap this Jan, we had a pretty mild winter this year [NB: based on my very faulty memories of past AB winters]

You can get a 10 year fixed rate mortgage in Canada. Not sure about those offered through brokers, but banks offer them. Have never heard of one longer than that though.

Source: My previous term with a national bank was for 10 years.

We currently have 2 small rescues with socialization issues. It's challenging. Spent small fortune on private training sessions, since they aren't fit for group training. Avoid dog parks. I miss having well socialized big dogs that I could take (& trust) anywhere.

I worry about them all the time.

Yes, they close quite early but have great takeout (& frozen meals too!) of you don't have time to eat in the small restaurant space.

We were there early 2000s and pink appeared nearly as often as green. Always dancing. White was a rare sight.

Now I have to drive a bit out of town if I want to see them. City expansion, and downtown & northern lights don't mix :(

We used to see pink all the time when we first moved here. Used to stand in our parking lot at Griesbach and watch them. Edm neighbourhoods didn't spread that far north back then.

Am I reading this right? EPS is refusing to release the audit plan to our elected council members?

I can understand not releasing it to the general public at this stage. I don't agree, but can at least live with that assuming the people we elected to represent us and who set budgets have access.
