I agree with this but it really feels like a band-aid with worse economic side affects down the line. I want to see a future where health care, housing, and education are fully/partly subsidized so that we collectively have a lesser need for higher wages.
The Los Angeles City Council has approved raising the minimum wage to $30/hr for the city’s hotel and airport workers by 2028.
The council voted 12-3 to raise the wage for the approximately 23,000 workers in these tourism industry positions.
