I mean, given the usage patterns, it makes a cynical sort of sense. If I remember correctly, there was a chart going around a while back that showed ChatGPT engagement dropping drastically over the summer, then going right back to normal as classes picked up in the fall :/

TL;DR: The study makes lots of claims that sound plausible in plain English (e.g. "AI reliance worsens critical thinking"), but are very silly when you look closer (subjects allegedly experienced brain deterioration from a brief experimental session??)

There's lots of alternatives available if you're looking for that style of hosting! Options that come to mind include NeoCities (a successor platform that I've seen a few friends make good use of) and GitHub Pages (which can be more technically demanding, but is very flexible).

I know this is easier said than done, but this is very much a sign-tapping moment for "find some community IRL if at all possible"
social media platforms are very good at amplifying the above discourse to unreasonable degrees, most (trans) people are simply normal about it and accept differences
