And now I’ll be the first generation of trans people to lose civil rights. Just like this generation of women were the first to lose the right to bodily autonomy. Just like this generation of gay folks might be the first to lose the right to marry.

Well, things change. Those crazies are now controlling the narrative. Gender Identity is likely about to be removed from Iowa’s Civil Rights law. It just passed out of subcommittee today. So here I am, tired and crying, showing up yet again to the yearly dance of horrors.

She assured me that this stuff would never pass because it was due to the crazies up in northwest Iowa. Regular Republicans may not have understood me but they have better things to do and Iowa’s civil rights protections were settled law.
