Hello! I'm a neuroscience tool developer, currently leading data product development at Inscopix.

We're working on building ways for neuroscientists to more easily leverage the best processing and analysis methods for their Ca imaging & behavior data.

Looking forward to joining the sci comm here!
Are you a neuroscientist who would like to easily try out different methods to process & organize your Ca imaging and behavior data? Or analyze neural activity across sessions, behavior states, or trials?

i wrote an essay for @thetransmitter.bsky.social about what it feels like to serve on an NIH grant review panel (study section) right now

Fear and loathing on study section: Reviewing grant proposals while the system is burning
As grants are canceled, delayed and subject to general uncertainty, participating in study sections can feel futile. But it’s more important than ever.

Canada needs to reduce its dependence on US tech companies — and cloud infrastructure is a perfect place to start.

For @policyalternatives.ca, I explain the threat posed by our dependence on US-owned data centres and why we need a public cloud that isn’t shaped by the need for shareholder profits.
Canada should build public cloud infrastructure rather than relying on U.S. tech giants - CCPA

I had a great time representing Inscopix, Inc. and Bruker at this year’s Advanced Neurotechniques Course at Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience! Always inspiring to connect with neuroscientists who are passionate about using cutting-edge tools and methods. Thanks to all the organizers!
Thank you to our incredible corporate sponsors for supporting this year's Advanced Neurotechniques Course! Your partnership helped make this unique training experience possible. Together, we’re pushing the boundaries of what we can see, measure, and understand about the brain.

An important, multi-lab effort to better understand how psilocybin effects standard mouse behavior assays.

Some results expected, some not!

The classic 'head twitch' response to hallucinogens was robust.

But, surprisingly, no persistent reduction in anxiety or depression like symptoms. 🧪

At a time when scientists & tech leaders are contemplating a new home for their talents, what can Canada do to help attract them?

Peter Zandstra (Director @sbmeubc.bsky.social) writes that without more foundational support for science, a 🇨🇦 'brain gain' may go to waste.

Opinion: Canada’s U.S. brain gain is risky without more foundational support for science
Scientists want to come to Canada not only to escape the chaos and uncertainty emerging in U.S. science but also because they are drawn to the energy here

"Watch a mouse raid your pantry day after day, and you’ll witness a master class in autonomous behavior far beyond the abilities of even our most sophisticated robots"

Insightful perspective by @tonyzador.bsky.social on how lessons learned in neurobiology are relevant to today's AI efforts. 🧪
As we attempt to build autonomous AI systems, we're discovering that agency—a capability we take for granted in animals—may be much more complex than we imagined, writes @tonyzador.bsky.social, in the latest essay in our NeuroAI series.

Happy new year!
For Maths fans, 2025 is a square.
45² = 45 x 45 = 2025
Also,
9² x 5² = 2025
40² + 20² + 5² = 2025
My favourite?
1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³ = 2025
