As I near another trip around the sun in this brief and insubstantial life of mine, it makes me believe we often take too many things for granted—property, privilege, technology, and the comforts of home.

I moved back to LA a little over 7 and half years ago (to sober up) after 13 years in Minnesota. This morning I was driving through Sepulveda Pass and remembered the hills 7 years ago were smoldering from that fire. I thought… you know, all the growth is back now.
