Storm chaser, photographer, and National Park wanderer—if it’s wild, I’m there. 🌪️⚡ From electric skies to rugged landscapes, I capture nature at its most intense. Conservation meets adventure. Let’s chase the light. 📸 ShawnRundbladePhoto.com
A couple nights ago, I went out to try my hand at a Timelapse of the #aurora. It was only my second attempt, so clearly I am still learning. Shot with my D500 and a 24-70. Exposure was roughly 2s and the internal was around 4s.

Annoyed at the cars, but my fault for the location. Alas...here you go.

I'll never laugh at photogs for their position choices. Where you stand to make the image you see if entirely up to you. While I tend to look for the views in areas where photogs aren't, that sometimes doesn't work out for me.

Behind the couple photos you see were like 20 more. I'm all by myself.

Wow, it's been a bit since I posted or even hopped on to check what's up.
Hopefully your fall season’s getting off to a good start. I’ve barely picked up my camera the past couple months unfortunately. I'll be doing my best to get back into the groove.
Until then, here's last fall. See the ALT!

Just gonna leave this here with no context.

I grabbed this image back in February at a protest in Madison. The sign remains even more true today. So far, every system that we had been hoping would stop some of the madness has either failed, or gone un-utilized.

I do love me some blueberries. These are some of the "Blue Crop" variety. I can assure you, they are tasty indeed.

Twas a wonderful night for my first sunset over Lake Michigan. Photos of a lighthouse to come later.

#Photographers of BlueSky, I have a question.

I'm getting ready to record a new podcast episode (and actually make an attempt at keeping it going). I'll be talking about G.A.S. and my work toward recovery.

What experiences have you had with it, and what helped you out of it?

Doing some work behind the scenes and will be updating previously recorded podcasts. Then... I will be starting to record new ones again.

Right now, you need to follow this link, I will be adding it back to the site once I get some new content recorded.

Here are a couple stills and one of my location in relation to the storm.

Went storm chasing locally yesterday. So close to getting a tornado. Was a decent looking storm as well which is always nice.

Take a peek. It felt like this was less than 100ft off the ground.

Photography tip of the day:

Don’t leave your lens cleaning solution bottle on the dash of your work van for multiple days and really hot sun

Just pitched a story idea to a magazine that I have been wanting to do for a while now. Crossing my fingers they like it and want to see more!

Amazing!

Thank you everyone who has chosen to follow me here. It means a ton that you decided to click that button. It's been a rough couple years for me, and I have been working hard to refine my skills and make myself better. The fact that over 1k people follow me makes it seem like it's working.

Am I going to break 1000 today?

I was on the other place for like 10 years and struggle to get to 500. I’ve been here for maybe a year now and I’m on the verge of breaking 1000.

Thank you everyone who follows me, I’ll continue trying to get more content as I can. Just been a little tough lately.

I was in Sheboygan, WI today for work. Between jobs I decided to head over to the lake and see what there was to see. Spotted this, a Franklins Gull. I saw a gull with a black head and thought, that is a bit different. Glad I went over.

My grandmother’s favorite bird was the Blue Jay—but I’ve always had a soft spot for the Mountain Bluebird. Less noisy, more chill, just as beautiful. I found this little guy in the Badlands and couldn’t help but think of her. 💙

I've been slowly getting myself in the habit of bringing my camera with me when I am working my normal job. I don't expect anything amazing to happen that is earth shattering, sometime I just see things that I want to photograph. Plus, sometimes it's just scouting.

Example, these Bearded Irises.

I'm still dreaming of places I need to get back to, and well Yellowstone has struck again. While this image is nothing special, I still enjoy it. I know it's along the North Entrance Rd along the Gardner River, but not sure exactly where. (need a GPS on my camera)

I really really need to head out there. I keep meaning to, and I’ve driven through the area several times over the past few months. Alas it’s always when I’m working though and don’t have time. I’ll need to take a day and go.

Would love to meet you some time!

Earlier I posted about needing to spend some solo time back at Pictured Rocks NL.

Another place, I want to spend months at...

Yellowstone. I was there in 2021 for a family vacation and only spent about 3 full days in the park. That's no time at all.

One day, I will get back.

I think I am going to plan a "solo" trip up to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore this fall. Went last year with my daughter, and was not able to spend nearly enough time there. Such a beautiful place, and not too far away.
