They make nylon coated strings too. I’ve tried their flats but they’re very stiff. I’ve been using Swing Bass on and off since 1981, and consistently for the last decade (when I do use flats - on one bass - they’re TIs).

Rotosound do make flatwounds too, as used by Roger Waters and Phil Lynott. But their rounds, far more widely heard, are exactly as above, the roundest of roundwounds (nicely put). Pure aggression.

Probably Seconds Out by Genesis. Although Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd & Moonmadness by Camel probably wouldn’t be too far behind.

I thought I was the only one tbh! 😂

Ditto. It sucks, doesn’t it?

Really sorry for your loss, and it’s such a beautiful song. 🙏🏻

As much I grew up loving Van Halen, there’s only 1 answer to that question.

This song defines a moment in my life so precisely. As soon as I hear it I’m back there.

I sadly never saw that at the time.

Children of the Stones and The Changes have never been surpassed, for me.

That’s exactly how I feel as a songwriter and musician...

I’ve got that! Got a boxed set of 1970s paperback editions too. Loved The Changes, absolutely classic tv.

One of my favourite tv series. And I enjoyed the tv series more than the books tbh, although I read the books a long time afterwards.

If only!

Yeah, me too. On their phones, talking, you name it. I’m on the autism end of the spectrum and extraneous noise drives me nuts as I can’t shut it out. I just wish people would show respect.

Those were the days. Reading festival in the ‘80s getting hit by plastic jugs full of urine. 😂 That ages me!

Best of luck with both. I think it often depends on the band and how hardcore the audience is. Some bands attract far more casuals, which I think is often the problem.
Yeah, it’s not just gigs, it’s the cinema, trains, everything. Used to love going to the cinema but really struggle with it now.

I have to be a near the front as possible these days, as I can’t abide distractions. I’ve seen so many gigs there, but Aurora was the best. Absolutely magical.
