The soybean cyst nematode genomics database has been updated as of last night. SCNBase.org now has all 9 early release H. glycines genomes and annotations. All files are downloadable and accessible through BLAST, feature search, and Jbrowse. The pan-genome paper is coming soon! #science #genomics

Turkeys have 80 chromosomes. Humans have 46. We don't know the biological significance of the chromosome numbers. All we know is changing the number changes the biology.

Unlike XX/XY in Humans, Birds have ZZ/ZW system. There's more, males are homogametic ZZ, and females are heterogametic ZW.
