I can’t force you. What I can do is tell you some of the things I “don’t want to do” that I’m forced to do because of my illnesses

If masking could have eliminated my suffering - I would never be without one

Less shocked by Trump's tariff tweets than I am by the number of Canadians rushing to sanewash them.
The amount of fentanyl that crosses the US-Canadian border is basically homeopathic! This isn't a serious demand! You don't have to be stupid in public!

Why we need F**k You Optimism. 🧵

The world is on fire – sometimes literally, sometimes metaphorically. Every day we wake up to headlines that feel like dystopian plot points: climate collapse, political rot, algorithmic overlords harvesting our attention for profit.

This is eerily specific. And accurate.
What else are you going to do? Fall back on your original plan of being a marine biologist? Of course not, you would have wiped out entire ecosystems. You can barely even get yourself to drink water regularly! You're a creative writer.

A Stanford study once concluded with a statement that most of our childhood beliefs stay with us for life unless we actively seek to rewrite them.

I actively started rewriting mine in 1986. I pull all the major categories of my beliefs back up every couple of years.

Chilling 🧵 summarizing the #Vossische1933f chronicle so far; the author is scanning and skeeting a 1933 German daily paper as an everyday German living through the days leading up to the Nazis seizing power.
I'm going to drop the pretense of being a contemporary German for this edition of #Vossische1933f and instead talk a little about what the news we have read so far, including today's morning edition on Saturday, 7 January 1933, means in context. Link to electronic edition (German) below. 1/

This isn’t lockdowns, obviously, they didn’t even exist then!

It’s obviously not school closures.

And it’s obviously not masks.

So can we start tackling the root cause now?
