Likewise for new homeowners. Existing ratepayers don't want to pay to subsidize new construction - in our area, they don't even want to pay what it costs to proactively maintain 100 year old pipes. So we fix them when a road collapses after a pipe leak instead.

"If you build it, they will come" applies to a lot of things. It's prohibitively expensive to hook up new builds to water/sewer services in some areas, because the capacity to serve additional volume isn't there.

You're making allegations without evidence. And then resorting to name calling when you're presented with logical reasons why you're wrong. Not going to win many people over to your perspective that way.

Why are you calling "the olds and inept" assholes. The people who "store drugs like feral squirrels" are people who struggle to afford drugs. Being poor doesn't make you an asshole, or mentally incompetent.

There are limits. He can't stop or void an impeachment. And he can't pardon them for local crimes. Which most of them are. share.google/uNqzoj0unB1B...

Also, you can't be pardoned if you're impeached.

While you are technically correct (the best kind of correct) the unfortunate reality is that a large portion of our population doesn't subscribe to the notion that a 17 yo can't consent to a relationship with a 20 yo, let alone a 40 yo. So...

I had someone claim that the SNAP fraud that Trump was diligently preventing by stopping the whole program included Congressmen taking benefits. When I asked them to name names, they ghosted.

Also, the "1/3" of people who are paying private insurance aren't affected by whether the rest are on Medicaid/Medicare/Obamacare discount programs, because we're only in our employer's risk pool. We're affected by whether Susan in Accounting gets a repetitive stress injury...

Also, you can give them your cell number, and they'll text you when your ballot is mailed to you, when they receive it, and when your signature is verified. I assume if your signature didn't match, they would text you saying it didn't match and how to cure it.

Nevermind most folks don't have a 401k, you can't buy groceries with one.

Believe me, there's a large contingent of folks who rejected everything that came after Vatican II, and they are just as bad about this stuff as the Jerry Falwell following Baptist contingent.

I feel like doing that just plays into Trump’s plans. Then he can claim that, just like with FEMA, states can fund their own SNAP benefit programs, and then he dismantles it and takes the tax dollars we used to spend on SNAP and puts it towards his war on immigrants.

Ah... in that case the only reasonable excuse is that they're also meeting with team members on the Pacific coast at the same time... all my meetings with London are at 7:30 am for me unless we're also meeting with Hawaii, in which case we push it back an hour (it's still 5:30 am for the poor guy).

That's only because those rulings were around longer, so had more time to do damage. If we don't take back Congress overwhelmingly in 2026, and impeach SCOTUS/Trump, it will effectively be the absolute worst ruling, because it is basically saying the President can ignore any law Congress wrote.
