did a wild soda firing last night and here are some results! the pyrometer was only reading 2,120f but my witness cone 6 was already melted! i had to rush to spray the soda before things got too hot. i think i did a pretty good save 😅

i came up with a method to fit an irregularly shaped, domed lid on to an existing gallery and this is my first attempt! i've done oval and squared jars before but this was a whole different beast. thinking of making a video to share my process 💖 #wheelthrown #slab #handbuilt #ceramics

dialing in the proportions of this face... i think the trick is to spend the right amount of time on each part. adjusting little details can be fast or slow depending on my level of anxiety at the moment 😅

making sure all the tech works before eight week classes begin tomorrow night! especially since covid, i've had a hard time getting folks to step in closer to look inside the pot as i give a wheel demo--so my solution is to blow up the view with a camera and let people look inside from a distance 💖
