I’m the one in the middle with the hat and big happy smile… because getting to a nearby beach with people you love is a VERY special occasion when you are housebound with severe #MECFS!! Yes I exceeded my limits for a day, totally worth it on this occasion.

Today, May 12, is ME/CFS Awareness Day. That’s the disease that keeps me from working or doing any of the things that used to give my life meaning.

It’s also my birthday month! Read on for some ways you can help me celebrate. This is also a thread about living with #MECFS 1/

So glad when our useful hacks are also pretty! 💙 Slightly envious of your ability to drink coffee… I haven’t been able to have caffeine or alcohol in years. Just makes me feel terrible with none of the fun.

But yay for houseplants! I love mine too. There’s also a garden, but I can’t do much there.

I am grateful I was able to surrender a little more this year to #MECFS, the disease that demands its patients be in a constant state of surrendering to limits beyond the imagination of a healthy person. 1/

I shaved my head today, not quite to the skin but pretty close. It felt like a real ME moment, as I shed another layer of my former self to keep my present self alive and sort of living. 2024, the year I became housebound by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. 1/20
