In the before times, I woke up at my own pace, taking the normal 2-3 hours to put on my human mask and be presentable for interaction with others of my presumed species.

Human children do not understand this boundary. I must stand strong against hugs & kisses & random inquiries such as "What is the Soviet Union?" (ignore the whispers, "it collapsed when she was young, in ancient times"). "What colors should this bracelet be?" "When are we going to Gamestop today?"
