I have similar issues. But when it's not about me, it never comes off as arrogant but as someone letting others know about their products or skill set. How else are people to know about your stuff unless you show them.

Convey might be the wrong word. But it's kinda like how not choosing something is making a choice in itself. I like to think of art as the choices made or not made speaking to the beliefs or ideas of the creator, letting you come to conclusions explicitly or not explicitly stated.
