My look at the latest round of Israeli propaganda.

Trump’s assertion that you can’t “fake” images of starving children is telling, especially considering the Israeli government’s repeated accusations that Palestinians are lying about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The images of starving children coming out of Gaza recently have been met with alarm by some of Israel’s closest allies, and dealt a blow to the propaganda narrative about its siege of the devastated Palestinian territory.

How Israeli disinformation is attempting - and failing - to mask the starvation in Gaza
Israeli officials have throughout the war labelled videos and images of Palestinian suffering as examples of “Pallywood” (Palestinian Hollywood).

A 2018 visit by Catherine Connolly to areas of Syria controlled by the since-toppled Assad regime has been cited as a potential source of controversy.

Earlier this week, Connolly became the first candidate to announce she would run in the presidential election.

A 2023 scheme to help Ukrainians in Ireland without transport links has been described by a TD as having spent €1.6 million to buy eight cars—or €200,000 a car.

This figure is false: more than five times the actual amount paid for those vehicles.

Debunked: A government scheme did not spend €200,000 per car to help isolated Ukrainians
Ken O’Flynn TD said a 2023 scheme spent €1.6 million on eight cars.

Posts online asking for people’s help to find a 77-year-old man who went missing in Celbridge, Co Kildare, are a hoax.

The posts actually show the name and photo of a man who died in Ohio, USA, earlier this year.

Debunked: A search for a man missing in Kildare is a scam using the ID of a dead American
Other scam posts using the same ID have been viewed millions of times.

The jailing of Michelle Keane, a failed general election candidate in Kerry, has sparked claims that her imprisonment is linked to an alleged uncovering of election tampering. This is not true.

Conspiracy theories that the general election result was rigged or manipulated are being spread by far-right candidates who failed to gain seats in the 34th Dáil.

It follows similar claims of vote-rigging during and after the local and European elections in June.

Claims that the election was rigged began to be aired as election results began to roll in - showing not just that far-right candidates aren't going to win a Dáil seat but that many would fail to get their deposits or expenses back.

🧵 How far-right/National Alliance candidates are doing based on mid-morning tallies #GE24.

These will likely have changed by the time most people read them, but give an indication of the state of play this morn.

Have also omitted some candidates in constituencies where no data was available yet.

At this week's immigration debate, Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín presented a startling figure.

“One third of all hospitality outside the M50 are currently in a contract with the state to provide accommodation,” he said.

The evidence, however, says something else:
