If its any consolation, there were no TTC alerts about Line 6 today on the first weekday in service. The bar is at "it didn't immediately explode".

It all makes sense now

Yeah no I love that the TTC announced there would be no 506 replacement bus service, then secretly had it anyway for a month, then suddenly removed it.

Commuting isn't fun without the guessing

Not a chance in hell the CBC should pursue participation any further.

Netherlands, Spain, Ireland and Slovenia boycott Eurovision after Israel allowed to compete
They, and other members of the European Broadcasting Union, had called for Israel to be excluded over the humanitarian toll of the war in Gaza.

According to the December 10th agenda, the TTC is set to allow company adtrackmedia to install in-tunnel advertising.

This would similar to those installed on the Vancouver Skytrain in 2022 where a series of vertical LED panels display ads to be visible at train speeds.

On the bright side, Toronto's BYD buses already did that themselves
Chinese-made buses in Norway can be halted remotely, spurring controls
Test results showed that the Chinese bus maker had access to the vehicles' control systems for software updates and diagnostics.

Pretty cool

No new station smell as that has probably wafted away years ago, but looks decent.

The neighbourhood retail report as amended CARRIES 23-2.

Toronto Council votes to permit corner stores in all Old Toronto & East York wards, and expands permission for retail on some (but not all) major streets city-wide.

As much as this compromise is good given the context, I wish objectively beneficial policy didn't have to be piecemealed into 25 different sets of rules.
Having a local neighbourhood cafe contributes to a sense of community. A local grocer or convenience store nearby supports a walkable and livable city. I’m moving this motion to allow for this opportunity in communities that would welcome it. It’s time to lead.

Part of my summer work with the City was going to farmers markets and libraries with a tent and doing public consultations on this.

Neighbourhoods with existing cornerstores were overwhelmingly supportive.

Other neighbourhoods loved the idea of walking 5 minutes to get milk instead of driving.
