Recently, trick-or-treating has felt like a ghost story of bygones past, because young families can’t live in homes that make neighbourhoods come alive on Halloween.

Let’s change that.

Let’s build communities that kids can live and play in.

May the festival of lights bring joy, peace, and prosperity to you and your loved ones.

Today we celebrate Persons Day - the 1929 legal victory that recognized Canadian women as “persons” under the law. Thanks to the Famous Five who led the charge, the way was paved for women to participate more fully in public and political life.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for our community - for neighbours who look out for one another and the shared values that bring us together.

I hope this weekend has brought opportunities for peace, rest and joy.
