This is a love letter to Don Valley East.

As I begin my second term as your MPP, I want to reflect on the past and look to the future.

Getting to know you through challenges and triumphs has been the privilege of a lifetime—but there’s more to do.

Let’s get to work.

It is one of my most solemn duties to represent our community in remembering all those who have fought and died for our country.

Today, I placed a wreath on behalf of our grateful province. Lest we forget.

Today, I met @OntarioNurses who are asking for a fair deal.

As healthcare pressures grow and workers become an afterthought,
Ontarians aren’t getting the care they deserve.

Why does @fordnation only ever stand up for his friends and let down the rest of us?

Recently, trick-or-treating has felt like a ghost story of bygones past, because young families can’t live in homes that make neighbourhoods come alive on Halloween.

Let’s change that.

Let’s build communities that kids can live and play in.

Let’s bring Halloween back.

“For Ontarians being bombarded with these [Ring of Fire] ads, they should ask: Why is the government promoting a plan for economic growth that they don’t yet have the legal standing to pursue?”

The truth about Ontario’s Ring of Fire ads
Why hasn’t development of the Ring of Fire started yet? Because the province doesn’t have the right to the land.

Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating in Don Valley East and across our country.

May the festival of lights bring joy, peace, and prosperity to you and your loved ones.

At the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation’s Fall Harvest, tradition came alive.

From winnowing wild rice to plucking porcupine quills, every act told a story. It was a powerful reminder that Indigenous culture and wisdom has so much to teach us.

Today we celebrate Persons Day - the 1929 legal victory that recognized Canadian women as “persons” under the law. Thanks to the Famous Five who led the charge, the way was paved for women to participate more fully in public and political life.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for our community - for neighbours who look out for one another and the shared values that bring us together.

I hope this weekend has brought opportunities for peace, rest and joy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Mid Autumn Festival took place earlier this week and I had an amazing time celebrating with the Korean Canadian Cultural Association right here in #DonValleyEast.

Nothing is stronger than a community united.

That’s #DonValleyEast.

Last night, neighbours, families and leaders came together with @TPS33Div for a thoughtful discussion on crime and safety.

The message was clear: we will not be deterred - and together we are powerful.

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in the Jewish calendar. It is a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection, focused on forgiveness and renewal. To all who observe, I wish you a meaningful and peaceful day.

Today's Auditor General reports are a stunning portrait of contrasts:

Childcare and educators starved of funds in one report.
Nightclubs and bars flush with funds in another.

It's a funnel of taxpayer dollars betraying Ontario's future for Ford’s friends.

Ford government’s handling of Skills Development funds ‘not fair, transparent or accountable,’ auditor finds
In a critical audit, Shelley Spence said Ford’s Ministry of Labour awarded money to the “low- and medium-ranked applications” from the controversial fund.

Truth is painful, but also transformative.

On #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation, we reflect on the tragic history of residential schools and the wounds inflicted on Indigenous people in Canada.

May these truths compel us to walk a path of reconciliation, everyday.

On Saturday, volunteers worldwide joined in Global Ismaili CIVIC Day, with a focus on service to humanity by protecting our earth.

Many hands make light work, which is how a big team was so fast to spruce up our beloved Sunnybrook Park.

Thank you for this inspiring effort.

Dreams don’t disappear because of a disability.

But for too many students, the barriers are immense.

Last night, I joined the Tamara Gordon Foundation’s 2025 Scholarship Award Ceremony to celebrate post-secondary students who refuse to let adversity define them.

Linda’s story is both unique and painfully familiar:

A woman with hopes and dreams, dashed by struggles with mental health and homelessness. She died alone in Don Mills.

She’s not alone anymore.

Today, we attended the 16th Annual Linda’s Walk so this can’t happen again.

I’m saddened by the passing of the Honourable Jim Bradley, one of Ontario’s longest serving MPPs.

I was lucky enough to meet him and am inspired by his warmth, humility, and lifelong dedication to public service.

My thoughts are with his family and all who mourn his loss.

Today, @TPS33Div opened a new Safety Hub at Shops at Don Mills.

This hub is more than a physical space - it’s a platform for nurturing trust, partnership and peace of mind.

Thanks @TPSDonovanLocke for your leadership to bring neighbours, businesses and police closer together.

Did you know that 1.2 million litres of milk are pasteurized and processed in the heart of Don Valley East EVERYDAY?

I had an udderly fantastic time touring the Agropur Don Mills Milk Processing facility today.

Dare I say, it was a legendairy experience!

To all who celebrate, I hope this #RoshHashanah brings a year filled with laughter, light and joy.

May the sweetness of apples and honey be a reminder of all the blessings we have and renewal to come.

Shanah Tovah to Jewish communities in Don Valley East and across Canada!

This week, CMHC showed "Canada's" housing problem is really "Ontario's" housing problem.

@fordnation has made us runt of the litter—the only province with falling housing starts.

Ford has every excuse to say why housing is⬇️ but the real reason is he hasn't shown ⬆️.

Doug Ford is the biggest spending premier in Ontario history.

But for all of Doug’s spending, taxpayers aren’t getting any value. Only his friends are.

Cutting HST on new homes for all homebuyers would give Ontarians the value—and affordability—they’re looking for.
