It's always safe to assume that Elon doesn't know a damn single thing he's doing and he's just flailing around pretending he's the smartest person ever in all respects.

I never followed it closely myself, but my understanding is that the ending was so bad most of its fanbase dropped it like a stone. I don't think they're interested in coming back.
