Hello, I am not a career artist due to health barriers but I have done: traditional and digital drawing, watercolor, traditional and digital photography, and graphic design. I like nature, history, and cool imaginary creatures. #PortfolioDay
When I get overwhelmed I have a flight response but it’s a weirdly specific one. I always want to drive away to Nebraska and bury myself in a fossil bed so that I fossilize with the rhinos. When my mental breaks get real bad I’ve been known to get halfway to Sioux Falls.

As a nonprofessional, I like to imagine that ancient polytheistic cultures worked a lot like fandoms. Everyone had their favorite deity and argued over it and put their likeness on their doodads and housewares. They made fanfictions of them which later became “canon” myths.

I am ashamed to say I almost forgot about the TMBG-athon because life is terrible but I am now listening.

I made honey garlic shrimp for myself. It turned out quite well, but I won’t be attempting again. A painful reality of chronic illness is needing to accept where to draw the line for things that you can’t quite handle doing. It took 3 hours for me to prep for a 10 minute prep recipe. I am exhausted.

Today is the day all the midwesterners listen to Gordon Lightfoot

Vincent says when the world feels like it’s falling apart, the best place to be is in a warm bed.

Vincent is not a fan of the gales of November. He says they are too cold.

Food is still in fact very expensive. It is almost cheaper to just buy premade deli food at this point than buy the parts of a meal.

I love dressing up and decorating but Vincent is glad Halloween is over. We do share a fear of clowns.

Sometimes you just need to buy baked goods to celebrate a few evil men being removed from power.

I am very angry today. The best way to help with a full bodied eruption of focused anger toward something you have no control over is to do a productive physical activity. Clean the shit out of your shower. Weed the shit out of your garden. Walk the shit out of your dog (if they can handle it).

Before bed thought of the night:

I hope, someday, another Earth being can find as much love and wonder from the remains of us as we find from the fossilized remains of extinct prehistoric creatures.

If you want to spend two extra hours of preparation before every session of your 3.5e Dungeons and Dragons games without being the gamemaster, then I highly recommend playing a multi class cleric/wizard.

I’ve been doing it for 20 years and at 20th level it’s now more like four hours. No regrets.

Well I have horrible digestion problems because I ate Scottish food that had onions in it and I can’t eat onions so I went internet-ing and just discovered the “Weird Birds” social media performance. Also, if you like creepy dinosaurs using mimicry the “Nightfall” short on YouTube is pretty good.

Every year today becomes the day people post on social media to try to get back stolen candy bowls or decoration. Decades of being involved with retail taught me 20% of the population is evil, greedy, and psychotic. They teach it to their kids. Don’t take risks, but don’t write off the other 80%

I dunno what counts as bad or good omens but a bird dropped mouse intestines on my car today.

“Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.”

Tarps are underrated survival gear. People mostly think of a tarp as a moisture barrier but they can be used as an improvised stretcher in emergencies. You can use them to collect water, for shade, a camoflauged hide, a windbreak, food processing, and snow removal. Don’t forget the tarp.

Have a bugout bag for emergencies.

Put in backpack: 1 set clothes, 3 days food, first aid kit and prescription meds, headlamp with batteries, crank radio, life straw or water filter, bottle, emergency blanket, plastic tarp, camp rope, local map, fire starter, a good Swiss Army knife, hygiene items.

One of the things I miss most about living in southern Arizona is the Mexican holidays, particularly Dia de los Muertos and Cinco de Mayo. The closest thing is Halloween which is maybe why I like it so much but Halloween is less positive. Also the homemade Mexican food > mass produced candy.

I decided I was tired of not being sick so I interacted with 100 children, consumed onions (I have a food intolerance to them), and ate raw fish. No one will ever know which one caused my demise.
