Labour are stuffed on this issue. Everyone in the know is aware it’s used by press hostile to Labour to whip up anti government sentiment. So absent a change in the press they have to be seen to do things in this space.

They can be helpful but they are hugely oversold. They aren’t more useful than skilled staff and machine learning solutions (older tech than lLMs) are more useful for generating standardised documentation.

There is nothing to stop smartphones being that controlled device. I continue to hear people citing smartphones as a problem but what they are citing as examples is social media. It is easy to restrict or block access to social media on smartphones.

The problem isn’t persuading Tory voters to vote Labour, not in south wales, it’s persuading socially conservative Labour voters to carry on voting Labour rather than voting reform

There are no absolutes in knowledge based work. If there were, just like AI, machine learning would have replaced vast numbers of qualified lawyers over the last few years. Instead numbers have increased, because it’s a productivity enhancement, not a replacement, just like AI
