This abrupt color change is not exceptional though - I plotted the mean NDVI of the "plastic sea" of El Ejido over the past 4 years from Sentinel-2 imagery. Farmers typically wash the greenhouses from mid September.

Depuis fin octobre, le Rhône n'en finit plus de cracher une eau turbide. Ces sédiments sont le fruit de l'érosion des Alpes ! Chaque année plusieurs millions de tonnes de particules en suspension sont évacuées par cette embouchure, surtout pendant les épisodes de crue. Sentinel-2 / 8 nov 2023.
