Learning to sew, taking knitting breaks.
If you can properly measure where the size chart assumes you're measuring, and the size chart is actually useful, then a cloth measuring tape is useful, regardless of gendered body shape. (If if if! I started making my own clothes for a reason)

Even mens clothing that does "measurement" sizes like 34 doesn't actually mean 34=34". You have to go by a size chart with actual garment (or drafted wearer) dimensions. If there's not a real size chart, don't buy online, that's asking for disappointment.

I hate handling large swaths of fabric. Could you start with a smaller window as a test? Using stable fabric--not something that distorts too much--will also help.

Do I think actual knitters aren't pedantic for the sake of pedantry? Nah I've been on Ravelry since the early days, I am well aware of our tendency to do that. But we're also able to overlook a mis-crossed cable and awkward grafting, so it's possible a knitter can lend some grace.

Two semicolons in one sentence is textbook punctuation? What rambling style guide is this? I want to use way more commas than Chicago would approve.

I really want to try Rein Ranch--distinct rein and leg aids!--but my Chromebook Steam beta isn't up for it afaik. Probably requires two hands, anyway.

I genuinely wondered how I would ever use 100 clips...now I wonder where they all went 😭

In any case, I still need to go on an errand to print out the new pieces. Maybe I'll ride this inspiration wave by sewing something small tonight.

Even just looking at the matching size lines only, the Ryan sleeve curve looks way longer vs the bodice than the curve of Orlando sleeve curve.

Is that an ai summary or is that directly from some scammer site?

The Bechdel-Wallace test but for cars. (sure it's simple, sure, it's a joke, but wow a lot of films fail it)

Oooo thanks, saved!

It's beautiful! Did you chart the colorwork or is there a pattern already out there?
March 16, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Threadloop, Pattern Review, and Textillia are all contenders! The Fold Line also used to be good but it's only stuff they sell. Nobody's search function is as good as Ravelry's though.
