I got in a riding accident on Saturday. While at urgent care, I finally listened to podcast I was recommended with @malicedafirenze.bsky.social . This inspired me to try horse games for the first time in years, because I probably won't be riding for a while.

Even just looking at the matching size lines only, the Ryan sleeve curve looks way longer vs the bodice than the curve of Orlando sleeve curve.

🧶 term of the day: Crocking
When your yarn (or fabric?) has extra dye that comes off on your hands as you work. More common with natural dyes, especially indigo.

Thankfully this indigo dye comes off with a hand wash or two. Usually it's not a problem in the FO because washing and vinegar helps.

#showmeyourknits is sweaters, so here's my Cozy Classic Light raglan (Jessie Maed) Not quite my first sweater, just the first one I like enough to wear regularly!

I did the sleeves 2aat and that's going to be my go-to from now on.

For comparison, the same yarn held singly: more short run stripes, more contrast, more discordance

I experimented with chain plying *while knitting* yesterday: basically a strategy to hold 3 strands at a time without the chaos of 3 balls. I think I like it! This fingering had too much color variation for my tastes. Held 3tog mutes it imo. It looks more like an oil slick now.

Periodic horse content: MUD

I always forget to take FO photos of gifts. Here is my first two attempts at a drawstring bread bag with French seams.

The barn's new owners picked up an untamed mustang and her foal yesterday. They're surprisingly brave and chill for barely being handled ever.

My first ride back after covid lined up with a rainy day. Everyone, including my lesson horse, had given themselves mud baths. Thanks. Thanks.

Serves me right for blindly following the pattern and not even looking at yardage. Ripping back to make this narrower.

What other landmarks am I missing on the 0A? For 5/8", is my best bet to move the needle left to the 1/8" tick and gauge against the right 1/4" line? When do I want to use the horizontal lines indicating the front/back level of the needle?

Serves me right for being too lazy to zigzag the edges before washing.

The one fat quarter I did finish had stayed completely out of this mess.

Building this baby quilt has piqued my interest in quilt-as-you go with scraps. Except I sew with knits more often than wovens. Could I back those scraps with firm interfacing and incorporate them?

Entrelac is fun to knit but I have yet to find it visually appealing.

I thought this Tumalo Fiber sport weight would work but meh. Continuing my search for the best pattern for my MIL.
