Reporting in from the ZOHRAN watch party here in Oakland 🥳

This paragraph is the one that stood out to me as quickly running through a richly detailed forest that needs to be more thoroughly examined. Notice that the giant leading talking point completely falls apart for, again, PEOPLE.

But who else would toil overnight in the screaming mines without them
October 24, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Folks, we DID THAT!!! 💛 36 hours ago we started giving together to my local food bank because SNAP is being cut Nov 1 and we raised $1,200!

I'm going to match this over the next 6 months. The food bank also has a matching donor for all giving right now.

All counted we'll have paid for 9,600 meals!
October 24, 2025 at 4:21 PM
We are almost there! Thank you to the two people who donated last night after I logged off. When we meet our goal, we'll have provided 4,800 meals– enough to feed a family of 4 for 400 days.

Can anyone help give the last $65 to get us to the goal this morning?

A beautiful night to be a San Franciscan

Adding alt text. Trump has said there will be no federal troops in San Francisco. Nothing about the rest of the Bay Area.

On Friday, all around the bay, there will be folks gathering for a vigil at your nearest public library because of the ICE deployment. I especially love the importance and symbolism of this choice of place.

Here's a handy graphic you can save and share if you're in the Bay Area

This rapid response guide for reporting ICE is specific to San Francisco. For the other counties in the bay area, the second post on this thread links to a list of hotlines and resources.

If I were in the Democratic Party I’d be talking about how the White House now looks like millions of homes across the country that have fallen into disrepair or neglected after a disaster and pound the pavement about the National Whole Homes Repair Act to invest $100,000 in every home in the US.

Just to demonstrate how not obvious this was, here's a real ad running on Van Ness last month with pure fash aesthetics

The rank and file of UAW is launching a worker publication!

"Daily Struggle will provide a platform for workers to speak for themselves, featuring interviews, analysis, and coverage of militant labor struggles written by and for UAW members."

With an average household size of around 3 people, the LIHEAP program helped more than 21 million Americans last winter avoid a utility shutoff.

The federal shutdown means the program will not open in every state and will run out of funding almost immediately.
