🧵 Our latest study on long-term outcomes of bone marrow transplantation in NIK deficiency is now published in Frontiers in Immunology. Heartfelt thanks to all collaborators and to the dedicated team following these patients over 10 years. www.frontiersin.org/journals/imm...
Frontiers | Long-term outcome of bone marrow transplantation in NIK deficiency: non-redundant role of non-canonical NF-κB signaling in thymic reconstitution and secondary lymphoid organ development
IntroductionBiallelic mutations in MAP3K14, encoding NF-κB-inducing kinase (NIK), disrupt non-canonical NF-κB signaling and lead to a rare inborn error of im...

Refusing vaccines has become the paragon embodiment of antimodernism. That’s why the conservatives appreciate the potential there and use it even more to bring in more votes from that new „cult“. No surprise RFK is nominated secretary of health.

A new study this week showed how the most common blood test performed-—the CBC, complete blood count—contains a treasure chest of information that we are missing in reporting out to patients and doctors.

Happy to announce the publication of our paper in Science Immunology. Here we describe the first patients with biallelic disease causing mutations in the LTBR gene encoding for the lymphotoxin beta receptor. 1/10

LTβR deficiency causes lymph node aplasia and impaired B cell differentiation
Loss-of-function mutations in LTBR result in a stromal defect, leading to dysfunctional secondary lymphoid organs and combined immunodeficiency in humans.

New in #ScienceImmunology:

Research from @boztugk.bsky.social and team identifies an inborn error of #immunity caused by human LTβR deficiency, resulting in defective stromal cell signaling and impaired humoral immune responses.

Congratulations to the whole team @stanna-ccri.bsky.social, and heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, including the patients and collaborators.
So my first post for the project I have worked all through my time in Vienna. It has been an amazing journey to delve into the lymph nodes & NFKB. Bernhard Ransmayr has done a great job to shape the whole story and I have proudly witnessed his growing in the process!! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
