Overall I'm pretty pleasantly surprised! Using the 24.04 LTS.

Easy installer. Graphics and, amazingly, wifi worked right away.

Updated all packages without the whole thing falling apart.

VSCode and Jetbrains tools over SSH are *very* slick; never had a need for them before but yeah. Quite nice.

Gotcha, thanks! Yeah just wasn't sure if the process was defined in a way that if I made a rotation key with Service X, that later some other service would still be able to verify that the private and public key were a match if for whatever reason Service X was unavailable / adversarial.

Hey quick q on this that I'm still uncertain of after reading the article: are private / public rotation key pairs linked in a way that doesn't depend on the service that made them?

Like, if I set up a rotation key with pdsmoover, can I later use that key with some other tool (e.g. northsky)?

On one hand, my Index isn't that old, it works fine, and I don't use it thaaaat much.

OTOH, a big part of why I don't use it that much is it's such a bother to use. Something lighter, wireless, no base station / reflective surface / play area shenanigans... maaaaan that's tempting.

Geeeeeze. I used to go there pretty often, but yeah, I guess it says something if it's been down for months and I didn't even notice. :/

VRC is fun when I get on with somebody I know but yeah if I don't know anybody on I just don't log on haha. It's 1000% a waste of time trying random public instances.

Are you saying it's been continuously down since July, or just there's been a lot of downtime since July?

Hypothetically if there were one, what would you do with it? o.O

For not having an algorithm, sometimes BSky timeline really nails it

Yeah, I've thought about it a few times over the years and while there are some superficial similarities, I am very definitely not demi.
