Bayern had a goal disallowed for a no-arms block on the GK yesterday.

Mr Jover, I come bearing awful news from the European front

4/ Having these figures makes sense from a general POV, but this is like running to Abbey Road and telling them they 'need to check out guitars'.

The second point is smart, and an extension of the 'don't mark your own GK' idea that teams (e.g. City) have used - smart way to avoid a wasted man

2/ Kai goes shoulder to shoulder and and dips behind, using the aggressive 'following' of the opposition to earn himself about 5 yards behind. Tbf, it is "Twink Burnley" but I think this gets a big fat "Not sure about that one chief".

13/ You only need to look back 4 days to see why teams get scared of it. Sporting go aggressively zonal, and lose half their team to one deep cross. AFC can sit behind and hold their ground. Those are *his* type of headers, so it's wise not to give them up easy

11/ For the goal (to go back), Gabriel's check-back is immaculate and, to my mind, ultra-functional because of the expectation AFC have built. There is a constant fear of the back-post zone (as seen in WHUs tactic), so a 'nod' to this is naturally terrifying.

10/ A few times we again see AFC's reputation preceeding them. Here, in the short-term, Timber's constant arrival near post forces LP forward and gives up that space again.

9/ The value of Timber and these blockers in tandem can't be overstated. Look how limited this chance is without them. MA does very well vs Gab, Timber is loosely awaiting a drop, Tross can't cause chaos centrally, and Cala is working too individually+slowly to do ~anything~

8/ We see this later for the penalty call. Instead of Cala, it's Saliba, using his strength in the block to free Gabriel of a very tight marker - boosted again by the freeing runs of Havertz, Timber, and now Cala, (who nicely all shift roles) and isolate this war
