This lit a fuse in me like little else these days

I cannot believe that both of my senators betrayed us

I am gutted

Charles Schulz nailed a dynamic that will be repeated at horrifying moments in human history until the end of time

I disagree with that framing. Right now we have a no-party system—a soft dictatorship that is hardening by the day.

Having even *one* party that is competently run and has a vision and is not a mere cult of personality would almost surely be an improvement on what we have now, which is few options.

People should call those numbers—and already are. I hope some do so because of the words I’m writing on social media for free and on Substack for subscribers/free-trial holders. But to create a stupid zero-sum in which either I organize my exhortations exactly as you do or we are at odds is stupid.

It is pretty shitty to imply that all I want are subscriptions when my thousands and thousands of posts and hundreds of reports push people to action—and I’ve released more anti-Trump protest songs for free on streaming platforms than any American. You keep posting Google-able numbers, that is fine.

I also want people to make calls. And with Google, those numbers are a click away. I am not stewing or asking others to stew. My own critiques of what has happened are reaching tens of millions on three platforms, and I hope move people to act. But this is not a feed that lists numbers easily found.

Most importantly, understand that years later—after you've escaped 5 state and federal felony prosecutions due to your political rivals' charity—if one of Earth's most respected media outlets correctly assesses that you expected, incited, and intended violence, you're entitled to millions of dollars

The important thing here is simply to use the word "peaceful" a single time in a speech that runs over an hour, despite the fact that you've told the angry armed mob in front of you—which you know is armed—to be "wild" and "fight" and told them to do something they can't possibly do without violence
November 10, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Remember also that it's not a clear indication that you knew your words would result in violence if you repeatedly tell the armed mob that you'll be going with them to the building it is illegal for them to be at unless they forcibly overwhelm law enforcement and then instead flee back to your home

PS3/ What really astonishes me, though I have no idea why, is that it's not even like they came out to the public with a novel, ironclad, shocking explanation for this betrayal that was irrefutable. They just stepped up to the microphone and fiddled their lips with their fingers like born imbeciles.

PS2/ I've never for even a second wanted to be involved in politics. I've no interest in power or authority, or in being a public figure in that way. I don't want to be involved with government at all. But this catastrophic profile in cowardice by both my senators actually made me consider politics.
