“Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest…” If a corporation based in another state owns a slew of television stations then those really aren’t “local broadcasters”.

I keep reading about political violence being a result of people losing their voice. If R’s were serious people they’d see that TX gerrymandering has started a trend that ends badly and would protest. I don’t want to vote for CA to end their Indy redistricting commission because but I will.

I grew up lower middle-middle class in Oakland in the 1980’s. I now realize I’m bougie as hell because it isn’t the price of eggs that freak me out but instead a bag of Guittard chocolate chips is $11 a bag.

Listened to The Press Box pod today. @joelanderson.bsky.social talked about 🥩 being cooked “crispy” and mentions poorer communities not getting the best cuts of meat. Another reason for well done is not having refrigeration. My dad grew up w/out a fridge so our steak was always shoe leather.

This administration has so screwed up Kilmar Abrego García’s life and the rule of law it is disgraceful. At this point any evidence that they claim to have against him can only be seen as fake. Bring Wilmar back to his family.

Sad to read about Mario Vargas Llosa’s passing. My dad was a couple of years older than Llosa, but by reading Llosa’s novels I learned a lot about my dad’s life in 1950’s Lima, 🇵🇪.
