To give an example of the difference between the two types of blog posts.
Here is one without dev comments

and here is one with comments

Heat shimmer and you
So Roadcraft is a great little game, very chill and good for the OCD. The game does mention that some people might have seizures due to epilepsy and photo-sensitivity in general. Most of my playtim…

And of course, if you don't want your game to be showcased like this, no hard feelings.

I understand that this is a project made with blood, sweat and tears, so it can be really hard to see people look at it from a perspective like mine and not be hurt by the attention.

The post will be going up on this site
electronicepileptic.wordpress.com/epileptic-tr...

and it will be used to help devs make great games without being running into the same health related minefield.

Having dev commentary explaining their process is really appreciated.

Constructive here means that I'll be taking the visual material you have provided, explaining the parts where I feel it beginning to provoke a seizure reaction and then commenting on what would need to be changed to remove that reaction.
No negative or detrimental statements intended or made.

Speaking of visibility, from a photo-sensitive epileptic perspective, your game is fascinating me.

There is a lot to learn, and even more to teach, from just the short video here.
I'd love to chat more with you, if you have the time to flesh out a constructive blog post with me.

Thank you for putting the photo-sensitivity warning up on this post.
Usually those warnings won't show up until after the game is bought, downloaded, installed and started.

Well well well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

The people who get loudly angry about anything they don't like, are the only people who are posting instead of silently enjoying the game.

you might also want to think about how long you can stand being around a bunch of people and being the center of attention.
If you expect that you'll need a 5 minute break in the middle just to scream into a pillow, let the organizer know about this beforehand.

Get yourself some comfort food a few hours before the talk and some even more comforting food for a few hours after the presentation. That gives you a good vibe for the whole day and it makes the presentation seem like a part of the day instead of the absolutely only thing that can happen that day.

Get in the mindset that there is only one other person in the room at any given time. That being the person you are directly addressing.

Once you talk to a different person, the first one has magically disappeared or is returned to the background extras.

Well I suppose that depends on why you made the game in the first place.

Did you make a game that you wanted to make? Then yeah, it's worth it.

Did you make a game that you just hoped would be a source of money?
Then it might still be worth it, depending on where that experience leads you career.

I was thinking more in the line of neon signage. Or band names.

This thing is fantastic.

It looks great, yeah.
But man is it ever going to be illegible without a cheat sheet next to me.

At least in longer writings

The correct words are also not "E Fadre, Et Pili, Et spiritus sancti."
It is also frowned upon to start the sermon "heavenly father, you who should have known better."

Well it is still a step up from the days of opt out instead of our current opt in.

That was either random coincidence, or some seriously dedicated foreshadowing.
Bit too on the nose after the first read though.

Go check out the Biotopia Demo.

Just plonking down blocks of terrain as you try to build the largest biomes.

Only limitation is the number of blocks you get per level. Gotta score enough points from making scenery in order to level up and access more biome types.

Turn based. Has un-do feature.
