A good primer on the more entangled problems with this sort of trash science aka lacking epistemic soundness by Mel Andrews, @abeba.bsky.social, @andrewthesmart.bsky.social on www.cell.com/patterns/ful...
The reanimation of pseudoscience in machine learning and its ethical repercussions
Machine learning has a pseudoscience problem. In this perspective, the authors explore the recent resurgence of deep learning-assisted physiognomy and argue that pseudoscientific and socially harmful ...

The tapestry part is key! The Greek fates weaving the tapestry of life are basically all warning. Just like AI culture to miss that essential truth: destiny is unpredictable. Which can be scary, but it's scarier for those who enjoy things as they are. Even in this grief, unpredictability is hope

If you feel surprised it's a signal. Ask yourself would they have done [insert any awful thing] in 2024? Maybe not? We had lots of phrenology papers the last ten years I've been tracking AI, this sticks out, using the economist as a weapon normalizing an intellectual&cultural foundation of contempt

The conditions of prevention are eroding. Not that there was much but now it's even less. Another reason we need more artists such as the brilliant musicians who created the tropicalia genre in Brazil.

I saw this segment live. They had to know, all the other videos on the same theme were cherry picked and fake racist stuff. They also showed overweight people on social media and laughing that they don't need snap.

Maybe to normalize a format that's easily deep faked

I counter the claim that "AI steals just the way human artists steal." We do not. Artists engage relationally with sources rather than severing them for computational processing. Computers are not people. Comparing generative tools to artists is a dehumanizing act.

This demonstrates how artists actually work: through relational thinking, discerning, critiquing, connecting as thinking, feeling people. I know where every reference comes from. When artists take from each other with acknowledgement, responsibility, and respect, we make each other stronger.

The video itself is a counternarrative in form. I purposefully reference dozens of poets, activists, and artists—weaving archival footage, original poetry, SF documentation, Harry Houdini's writings, Haunani-Kay Trask's activist poetry, tech CEO speeches.

While we debate the future, AI-enabled deportations, surveillance, and deaths are increasing. The concentration of power in the hands of a few directly controls who live and who dies. The video is inspired by and supports the work of @danmcquillan.bsky.social -Read his Resisting AI

Like séances surging after the Civil War and Spanish Flu, today's AI promises—eternal life, superintelligence, climate solutions—emerge from the conditions of collective grief and fear.
November 5, 2025 at 6:58 PM
I made the video while mourning friends: Dedicated to Talula Reicker, Hillary Hall, Walter Robinson, and Charlie Finch. It is also Post-pandemic, during climate collapse, wars, frightening political realities. Psychics know when people are vulnerable to false hope.
