I want to add something here. She also routinely claims that lesbian and gay people support her and her crusade against trans rights. We do not. And her lying about what we believe to attack other members of our community is abusive to the LGBTQA+ community.

I think One Piece has flirted with the edge of this cliff many times, particularly in recent arcs as Oda's aims for the series' mythology have obviously gotten more ambitious. In different hands, One Piece would've toppled over. It would've gotten a chorus of "Why? It doesn't NEED this."

I have seen so many long-running series hit the moment of "too much." Not too much to remember or comprehend, but too much information to be of any actual use. A hat gets put on a hat and suddenly what you loved about the manga or anime is rendered unrecognizable.

I think the thing is that “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings” and “Til all are one” seem cheesy and meaningless when said by bad versions of Optimus Prime but when said by good versions of Optimus, ones with firm political stances, then… yeah. Til all are one.
