Doomer working towards acceptance of the NTHE. WASF. Aligned to nature, and an ecocentric worldview. The wealth of the planet is in its biodiversity.
Went for a barefoot stomp on the cliffs to keep the existential crisis at arms length. Stupidly warm when I first got up there, but the gloom soon descended - which felt much more appropriate! Still too bloody warm for November, but it is what it is. Om shanti.

Ooh, that's an interesting piece! The imagination can run wild with that one.

Here's my contribution - well, not mine, but a nice bit of standing deadwood that I passed on my walk today.

It was strong overnight, with more incoming. Keep everything crossed!

"The US economy is not real; it's just a big billionaire Ponzi scheme.

75% of Tesla shareholders approved a $1 TRILLION pay package for Elon Musk.

$1,000,000,000,000.

Tesla only made $7.13 billion in net income in 2024.

This is so stupid it defies basic math and reality itself"

Hmm, it was sunny here earlier, but now it's clouding over - stop stealing my sunshine! It was glorious yesterday, so I can't complain. I was barefoot on the cliffs - in November! A sign of the changes we have wrought on the Earth.

'Temps in the Arctic have warmed dramatically in Oct in the past 75 yrs due to sea ice loss & warming oceans. ...effectively all of the 4.4°C increase in the av temp has happened since the early 1990s.

...Oct was the 4th warmest on record & remarkably, the 5 warmest Octs have all been in the 2020s'

There's an archer's slit at the end of it, but it doesn't let in much light. But the more desirable your residence, the more likely it is to attract interlopers. I shall train the cat to attack all intruders! She's up to the task.

I'll leave the main building - it's too highfalutin for me, my needs are modest. I've staked a claim on this storage tunnel, though! Will suit me and the cat well.

A change of scenery today. I marched up to Dover Castle - which I intend to claim as my own after collapse 😝

For context, this is what the temperatures are expected to be for this time of year, maxes of 25C, rather than the 35C they saw yesterday.

The warning drums have been beating loudly of late.

I guess the thinking is that so much money is at risk if/when it does go pop, that they have to prevent it popping by funnelling in money.

Which makes the bubble bigger, and the pop messier.

Ooh, I might get that. It would be an interesting read.

'research has also shown that human activity is further slowing down the ACC...

Worryingly, they found that human–caused climate change will likely cause the ACC to slow by a further 20% by 2050...

...likely to have dramatic & devastating effects on the global climate'

At least it wasn't as bad as the Daily Mail reported!

I saw a nice sun dog today, Donald. Or maybe it was a glitch in my programming.

The resident squirrel has been busy, too, collecting the fallen hazelnuts that came down in the wind and stashing them away. He's an industrious little fella. (And yes, it know they're invasive - but the reds went extinct in Kent before I was born, so these cuties are all I know.)

More foxy goings on.

I got some great footage last week of the fox that comes into my mother's garden. I suspect he's hunting for frogs. Anybody knowledgeable who can give me an idea about age and gender? S/he looks young to me, but that's just a guess.

It is generally quite heavenly up in the cliffs - but it was bitter up there today with the nor'easter. Just enjoyed a hot chocolate and a beautiful sunset from my flat. That's a sky I'd be happy to be raptured up into.

Okay, it’s not me, it’s them. Problems at Bluesky with posting.

Maybe my posts will show up later - or maybe they won’t, and people will think I’ve been raptured!

Have a nice day, y’all, and I’ll be back with more doom later (unless I really do get raptured. Which is unlikely).

Good news, Doomers! Trump declares climate change to be a con, and assures us that there will be no more global warming or cooling. We are saved! All hail the orange dick-tator! Huzzah!!

Evenings. All good here. I got out and about and nabbed a few blackberries. Still waiting on the rest to ripen. They seem late this year - but everything is screwed up now.
