Got a hiby r4 because they're surprisingly affordable compared to a lot of "digital audio players" which are normally $$$ and its been amazing to have essentially an ipod again, no bullshit phone distractions just my music.

Feels like we're 6 months away from "these independant medical experts are scorned by physicists for "giving deadly advice" and "misusing the term "quantum"", but maybe they do actually hold the cure for all our problems"

First pot soldered in place. Double wires for 5V and ground to daisy chain the others. Try and get circuitpython up and running and test midi with just one to make sure it works before doing more.

Presents today are a bunch of electronics stuff to make my own midi controller for synth stuff. Microcontroller board with a ton of i/o and analogue pins and a big terminal block shield so I don't have to risk messing things up too much with poor soldering. And lots of potentiometers.

Also always find it delightful how shared nature brings people together so easily. Ran into a very friendly American who was here driving from Sydney all the way up to Cairns. Here with a big list of lizard and bird lifers to spot and helped him find a Goanna on his first day! Just wonderful.

We've just welcomed a kitty to our family and she's perfect, but also has been taking time to settle in and has *not* wanted to poop regularly at all, and while we've avoided having to have it medically treated it's absurd to be able to tell how long it's been by how circular she is lmao

Been having a lot of fun making pretty pictures with iterated function system (IFS) fractals. Will try do a thread and explain them a bit and post some more, but for now here's my favourite (which will become a tattoo as soon as I can afford it). 🧪
