Is that a meaningful shift? No. Even aside from the Kabuki theater aspect of all this, it's the leadership's job to unify the Dem caucus to fight the fascists. That’s it. Their individual votes are irrelevant. If the Dem caucus fractures and fails to unify against the Bad Republican Bill, then that’s a failure of both the individual senators who caved and leadership for failing to lead the caucus. We do not know now and will never know for sure if Schumer orchestrated this (my suspicion) or if he simply lacked the leadership skills to prevent it (also possible). But we don’t have to know the reason -- it is just factually true that he and the rest of the leadership team failed to hold their own caucus together.

Q: Is ID required to attend the 2025 Air Show? Yes. All attendees ages 18 and older must present a valid form of government-issued identification for entry to the Air Show. Entry will not be permitted without proper ID. Q: I'm not a U.S. citizen. Do I need special identification to attend? Yes. All foreign nationals, defined as non-U.S. citizens or anyone without legal permanent residence status, must possess and present a valid passport demonstrating their current legal status in the United States to gain entrance to the 2025 MCAS Miramar Air Show. Paper copies or pictures of the passport will not be accepted. All foreign nationals will be biometrically enrolled while passing through the security screening checkpoints entering the Air Show and will be required to wear an issued Air Show ID at all times.

For those of you tempted to think the shooter was left-leaning because of the messages on the shells, here's some important context. Apparently there was a civil war in the alt-right community - Fuentes vs Kirk - that pushed him in this direction.

CHICAGO PREPARES FOR FEDERAL INVASION WITH DOZENS OF SALT TRUCKS Residents of Chicago this morning are seeing their city suddenly filled with salt trucks - a look at how the city is preparing to be invaded by the Trump administration deploying troops there. Since 2012, the city of Chicago has strategically used these five-ton trucks to block streets, highways, bridges and other areas to curb civil unrest. 9/5/2025: Late yesterday the Chicago Mayor had ordered EVERY SALT TRUCK in the city's possession to line up and they will be using these salt trucks as a mobile road block to stop ICE. Hey when the forecast calls for ICE, salt trucks are needed to melt the ICE. IDOT has mobilized the States plows and salt trucks and were seen on Interstate 294, the Eden's expressway and Interstate 94 very early this morning 9/6/2025 driving side by side occupying all lanes into Chicago going very slow.

Common Cause’s Six Fairness Criteria for Mid-Decade Redistricting : Proportionality: Any mid-decade redistricting should be a targeted response proportional to the threat posed by mid-decade gerrymanders in other states. Public participation: Any redistricting must include meaningful public participation, whether through ballot initiatives or open public processes. Racial equity: Redistricting must not further racial discrimination or dilute the political voice of Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian American, and Pacific Islander, or other communities of color. Federal reform: Leaders pursuing mid-decade redistricting must publicly endorse the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, including provisions banning mid-decade redistricting and partisan gerrymandering. Endorsement of independent redistricting: Leaders pursuing mid-decade redistricting must publicly endorse a neutral, fair redistricting system, such as citizen-led independent redistricting commissions, as the long-term solution. Time-limited: Any new redistricting maps must expire following the 2030 Census, which counts all people in our country, and be replaced through the regular decennial redistricting process.
