Leaders with the North Olympic Library System announced that the renovated and expanded Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., is close to opening and that it has been paid for without local property taxes with $9.1 million from timber revenue.

Olympic Theatre Arts’ actors turn to Martians to help Sequim get in the holiday spirit this December with the 1964 B-movie adaptation of “Santa Claus conquers the Martians.”

It plays weekends through Dec. 21.

Sequim Elementary PTA’s volunteers announced that the group’s annual Turkey Trot exceeded its goal to help purchase books for students to read over summer break, help with PTA-led teacher appreciation events, and more.

Sequim High School added its first officially sanctioned sport in 24 years – girls flag football.
Practices are set to begin Nov. 17 for any high school girl interested as it will be a no-cut sport this year.

Leaders with Shipley Center, Sequim’s senior center, hope to move into the former JCPenney by the end of 2026.
“We’re very optimistic, and getting more excited by the day as we approach getting the building permit,” said Executive Director Michael Smith.
