Potted plants inside. Some plants are covered, the vine will grow back after all current leaves die. Over the last few years of hard freezes, my garden is naturally going towards more winter hardy plants.

Thanks for list. Just finished the Dressmaker’s Mirror. Compelling example of how hereditary cardiomyopathy impacts families over generations.

On my way from SFO to Stanford. The Uber app was frozen and there was no room to stand at pickup location so decided to take BART/Caltrain for 1/3 the price. Sunday of Thanksgiving it’s empty. So much for eco-centric California.

Need help diagnosing River Birch tree. These pictures from upper story so can’t easily reach this part of the otherwise healthy looking 4 year old trees. 🌱

I love peonies but what temperature zone do they tolerate? One of the few flowers I buy as cut flowers when available in the supermarket even though they only last a few days. 40 years ago when a visiting student in Taiwan I bought this vase that I use when I can find peonies. 🌱

Help? #2 I have had this Japanese plant about 15 years in Houston always with healthy leaves. Any idea what might be getting to it now? 🌱

Some help? #1 I’ve had this potted plant 10-12 years through hot Houston summers. Hasn’t even gotten very hot yet and I confirmed the sprinkler is working. Looks terribly unhappy. 🌱

Success with the Dahlia bulbs planted in containers. However, the picture on the pouch showed much larger flowers. These are about 2 inches 🌱

I posted that picture below in January and it is still blooming. That is what I love about orchids. 🌱

Supposed to rain this weekend so picked cherry tomatoes from my one hanging plant off the balcony. Pretty impressive for me!

My idea of putting tomatoes on the balcony so they would get enough sun seems to be working. Already eating the cherry tomatoes and a larger variety starting as well. 🌱

This thread has inspired me to start some plants on my small balcony (south facing in Houston). Any resources for deciding on best plants? Only truly sunny spot.

Another result of the hard freeze followed by heavy rain on our pergola. Leaves everywhere!! Look forward to start cleaning up tomorrow. I think the vines will bounce back. 🌱

We had a hard freeze so took my potted plants inside. First winter with our Husky dog. This was a mistake. The remnants of the gardenia are in the foreground. 🌱
