I love this article! Please post it to imgur; here, I've even made a meme for doing so! Every time I go there I find scores of folks lamenting this same sentiment and screaming into the void for actionable suggestions. I always recommend @indivisible.org to them, but this article would help, too!

They're not joking around, there's a warning of a 2.9 billion strong count of records known to be breached and both the Freeze and 1-year Fraud Alert tools have alerts urging everyone to put *BOTH* into place ASAP.

Hm, I have an idea; if this is (or could be) a nonprofit, we could qualify for the very discounted nonprofit postage, which we could all chip into so long as someone at the nonprofit orders on our behalf in bulk. I'm checking the book and I do believe the postcards tick all the right boxes.

Honestly, same. It's frustrating that so much of my mind/energy is co-opted by this, but I've been coping by acknowledging that pitching in is how we make a better future for everyone, so I'll allow it. Some folks have multiple avenues so they can compartmentalize, but you make do with what you got.

Hey, being here is already a step in the right direction; every active account/interaction on fascist media puts money in their hands. The less we fan their flames, and instead boost positive venuse, the more we can accomplish. Those places are so toxic they're past the point of diminishing returns.

Totally agree. It's easier to arrest small groups than it is a united front. There's very little Luigis can do from prison, or worse, a grave. I see it as a pot that's almost simmering, but has more capacity to store energy before it boils; that energy is more effective when water is superheated. 💥

if anything, they should be committed to a mental institution; they're sick, it's just hoarding, plain and simple. think of anything you'd associate with a hoarder and try to imagine a billion of them in a monumental heap. Insane, right? Now, somehow when it's dollae bills, we find it ok. It's not.

definitely get on the mailing list for your local @indivisible.org chapter, they help give a heads up on actionable stuff so you don't have to spend hours doomscrolling.

I like to send them memes to try and turn them around. We can use as many allies as possible, and if we catch them before they spiral out of control it helps lift everyone up. I've got an entire folder of stuff like this, gotta keep it fresh, and humor is the best salve.

I think the pimple is still too deep to pop, if you catch my drift. It's not like we're going to get a do-over, so I expect there needs to be more class unity and general solidarity before anything substantial happens. The rallying behind Luigi was a wakeup call, but we need more unification.

they also often have free passes to museums, organize their own activities, and when you get to know your librarian(s) they'll even take requests/recommendations for stuff to add to the catalog or events to hold. Depending on the time of the year, you can propose to do a workshop and get paid, too!

I'd actually recommend Kagi, between that and Wikipedia they've been solid, and I'm glad to be supporting peojects that have everyone's best interests in mind. Of course, it could change; after all, google used to have "don't be evil" as a rule, but as it stands these two let me sleep better.

If anything, be sure to visit and check out stuff from your library (it helps more than you can imagine!) and it's still good to sub to things like PBS and Nebula. I dumped tv for the forner and YouTube for the latter, and my morale/mental health has been much better for this media diet.
