I think Blade Runner is one of the few exceptions. IIRC it’s a minute or two shorter because Scott removed some pieces he didn’t like but the studio wanted in.

I don’t understand how this could have happened. At the time Hannan said "Absolutely nobody is talking about threatening our place in the single market" . Was he wrong?

If you wanted to disengage people from considered debate and reduce their awareness of the sometimes complicated political issues your opponents are raising in their eloquent speeches then you need a way to shorten their attention spans. You’d probably start with scrolling cat videos.

I think we’ve given up a lot of control and enabled remote attacks mainly to prevent a nebulous attack from someone who had to physically get in the building, know where the good stuff was, and be able to access it

We had an IT initiative recently asking us for ideas to prepare for cyber outage. I suggested hard copies of critical documents in a file cabinet. BAU 20 years ago. The amount of head shaking about loss of document control was disappointing.
