Chester Cup next wk - Emiyn seems overpriced at 33s imho. A regular at the track - close 2nd here last year off a 2lb higher mark - and all his best form round the Roodeye. His rider should be taking another 3lb off. Always the chance a younger one may be on the upgrade but I'd be no more than 16s

useless to me as it's with a firm who wouldn't lay me enough to win a mars bar...but 5/2 Mathieu Van Der Poel to win Tour of Flanders 🚴‍♂️ is well worth taking for anyone with a half decent Betway account. 5/4 would be nearer the mark imo

Lounge Lizard Tophamwatch again this yr (😉 @steeplechasing.bsky.social ) Was very keen on him last yr in my blog but late injury took him out. Hope he can finally justify the promise I saw from him on this course before and had to take some 25s once money appeared for him yesterday.

Re my Hewick pick in GN. Most notable aspect of last yrs new style GN for me was the 1st 4 were all previous G1 chase winners - indicating class came to the fore. 9 qualifiers in race this yr : I Am Max, Royale Pag, Grangeclare W, Hewick, Minella Indo, Capodanno, Conflated, Bravemnsgme, Chantry H

small ew with 4 places added today on Buddy One 66s for Stayers Hurdle. Recorded a pb in this race last year and obviously likes this course. Ground way too soft for him last time out and brought back over hurdles after a novice chase season that hasnt really panned out

Imperial Cup, Sandown, Saturday. Quite like the 25s available on King William Rufus. Probably would have been 4th lto at Newbury but for mistake 2 out. The drier ground and RH track here both more suitable imo. Go Dante also ran well in same race and has been backed but he surely wants it softer now

Beat the Bat added to the Cheltenham portfolio at 25s nrnb for the Coral Cup. Has patently looked to need further in his last two efforts in top 2 mile handicaps. Great to see Harry Fry is veering towards this race in his newsletter today (which also suggests Altobelli will be saved for Aintree)

Morebattle Hurdle today. I do like to be with proven course form at Kelso and am happy to support last years 1-2, Cracking Rhapsody and Ginger Mail, again today. 18/1 and 66/1 available respectively with extra places will do nicely.

I dont know if he is a certain runner but Hot Fuss is appealing off 122 in the Boodles after his unconventional AW prep. Several Irish fancied challengers not faring too well withmarks given today. The Wincanton maiden he was 2nd in one of the best uk juvenile races this yr. 33/1 nrnb available
