No one worked harder than Nancy Pelosi, no one understood politics better than Nancy Pelosi. Moreover, Nancy was a gracious woman who always had time to listen, no matter who you were or what political party you were in.

It was my honor to serve alongside Nancy Pelosi for 16 years in Congress and to pass historic legislation, including the Affordable Care Act, consumer protection reforms, and landmark investments in clean energy and the fight against climate change.

SB 31 is a pragmatic approach that will protect fresh water supplies by expanding the use of recycled water for irrigation and commercial uses. It will also help safeguard the state during devastating droughts caused by climate change.
October 13, 2025 at 11:34 PM
Expanding the use of recycled water is exactly the type of commonsense proposal that will help solve our state’s water issues.
October 13, 2025 at 11:34 PM
SB 31 would also protect the state’s fresh water supply by allowing businesses, homes, and agencies to expand their use of recycled water for irrigation and other uses, rather than relying on drinking water.

Gov. Newsom’s signing of SB 543 will make it easier to build ADUs and junior ADUs and help California meet its goal of building over 2.5 million homes by 2031.

SB 543, sponsored by the Casita Coalition, garnered unanimous support in the Legislature and goes into effect Jan. 1.
October 10, 2025 at 5:42 PM
California needs to build housing to help make our state more affordable. And one of the most effective ways to address our housing affordability crisis is to accelerate the construction of low-cost housing, like ADUs and junior ADUs.
October 10, 2025 at 5:40 PM
SB 543 will also accelerate the construction of junior ADUs (JADUs), such as an attached garage or basement converted into living space.

Honored to help lead a successful effort to exempt up to $20,000 in military retirement income from state taxes.

Also proud to support SB 296, which sought to provide a full property tax exemption for 100% disabled veterans or their surviving spouses.
